TEMU I have to say that when I first heard about TEMU it all sounded a bit “to good to be true” and extremely “dodgy”. I ordered an item to test it out, the battery adapter below, which at the time was ½ the price of Amazon and free delivery from China if you don’t mind waiting around 9 days or £9.00 for a quicker delivery. I went for the free option just to test it. It turned up as promised, if it doesn’t they will give you a credit to your account, value depends on order size, within 48 hours. I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the item and its a perfect fit for my RYOBI batteries. I have since ordered several items, all free postage, and so far no problems. Even an item costing 99 pence can be delivered free(update 10/04/24 £15.00 min. Order). Julie, the boss, has now ordered lots of kitchen items all good and no problems. One item, log splitter listed below, was a waste of money but even so it was actually good quality. I complained to TEMU and they refunded my order in full almost immediately and said not to return it. Returns are also free.

I would guess the idea is to compete with, maybe destroy Amazon, and take their place. Amazon are reacting to them by cutting prices, free delivery and return options.

This item is supposed to be a tool you put in a drill to split logs which the video seen on Facebook made it look so easy. They must have been splitting balsa wood or something similar. Saw it on TEMU so thought I’d give it a look. It comes with three ways to fit various drills and quality is very good.  So I gave it a go using my most powerful drill on a well seasoned and dry log. All I can say is it was a good job I was wearing my wellies as once the bit was about 20mm into the log it grabbed and spun the log and nearly broke my wrist. Tried clamping it etc. but could get no further, the log splits easily with an axe.

Got in touch with TEMU and they refunded in full in less than two days and said don’t return it. Very fair I thought.

Absolutely useless as a log splitter, in fact dangerous, if you are splitting anything other than rotten or balsa wood. Don’t waste your money.
