Scimitar GTE SE5a Restoration project ongoing

Below are pictures of vehicle as bought, it had been off the road since 1997 and stored in a dry wooden garage luckily and was covered in a thick layer of dust. Had no brakes but moved freely. Changed oil, which was very clean anyway, put on a battery and rigged up a separate fuel supply, good old squirt of easy start down carb and it actually started 1st time and runs a dream, amazing. Drained off coolant and flushed it through then put it to bed as had a lot on at the time. It is totally original with nothing missing, interior in amazing condition except carpets and I reckon mileage of 28,000 could be genuine. Can’t open sun roof at moment but won’t force it. Have recently removed all the brake parts and water hoses ready to replace. It’s currently up on axle stands high enough to get under and there has been no distortion whilst up and doors clunk shut nicely. One outrigger could do with replacing but not urgently. Needs a respray when ready for the road. To be continued.
