Niggles
|
I feel it is a little underpowered with only one cutting line on longer/thicker grass but still does the job. As a six footer could have done with a couple more inches to extend handle to save bending.

Review
My reason for buying this was because my petrol one is heavy, noisy and a bit smelly, cabled one well say no more. It arrived well packed, no damage and arrived next day from Amazon who had the best price and stock at the time. Basic assembly of main frame tube, handle to tube, guard, cutting line assembly and insert battery took about 20 mins. I have a few Ryobi tools on the ONE + system and tend go for the 5 amp battery, rapid charger and have one charging while one using. I found it a little underpowered on the more heavy grass as in first cut of spring, maybe because just the one cutting line, but I suppose that is a small compromise for the low weight, no noise and no cable etc. Not a problem though and really unfair to compare it to a petrol one which just tears through everything. It’s been well tested and overall am very happy with it, as shown on video extending line is very simple if not auto, this one does work auto. My wife is very happy with it and has no complaints. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and find the batteries are easy to remove and replace also the switching is very gentle on my hands as are the handles for gripping. With fairly firm continued use using 5 amp battery, it ran for 42 minutes. The batteries are intelligent and no loss of power towards discharge. They just suddenly stop when out of power. The head rotates for edge trimming which is very handy and the angle of cutter head to handle is adjustable for comfort of using depending on your height, I could have done with a couple more inches at 6 foot. I’ve got 5ft banks down to a small stream and adjusting the head angle makes it a doddle to trim these without going for a swim. Overall my own marking method gives it 90%. Amazon running at 77% which is good on 5000+ reviews. I’ve not experienced any problems as yet but will update if that changes. Weighs 2.7kg with battery.
