What’s it all about
My name is Dennis Leverett and 74 years young. I started working life with a 5 year engineering apprenticeship in Toolmaking including press tools, injection moulds, blow moulds, special purpose machinery and precision machining often to micron tolerances. Unfortunately in the recession of 1974 the business was bought out and asset stripped.
I won’t bore you to tears with the rest except what gave me the knowledge to produce this web site now. Started a Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom business designing, supplying and fitting the KBB which I really enjoyed because my engineering skills helped no end to get really good results especially on worktop joints. Initially I did all the fitting and quickly learned a lot of skills such as gas, electrics, plumbing, building and general woodworking. At peak had three teams of fitters working for me which then became total overload and ended in a divorce. Sold everything I had to pay off the ex-
Then along came Australian Triton Tools which totally impressed me with their Workcenter Series 2000 and accessories. I was offered a Distributorship by George Lewin the inventor and off I went on another journey. I owned www.tritontools.uk.com and www.tritonwoodworking.co.uk from 1997 till 2021. Unfortunately picked up Covid quite badly in 2021 and it knocked me for six leaving some after affects but got through it. Then Brexit happened and caused absolute chaos for my business when sending orders abroad as no-
A couple of manufacturers asked if I would be interested in testing and reviewing their tools and doing some videos using them. I liked the idea but had a classic car and motorbike I wanted to restore and a load of jobs to catch up on at home so didn’t commit myself. Happy Wife Happy Life. Getting a bit fidgety (workaholic) so I decided to do a bit of research into UK tool review sites and was shocked to find that very few, if any, actually physically test the tools let alone handle them. What they do is gleaning info from reviews such as on Amazon etc. and base their opinions on that, we all know how unreliable or unreal some big company reviews can be. The review sites are monetised earning commission from sales clicks and Google ads. Nothing wrong with that, I’ve been an Amazon Affiliate for years, the difference being I had hands on knowledge of the products enabling me to help my customers when needed.
I know from my Triton days that a lot of bad reviews were not genuine or from unskilled users that failed to read the manual. A perfect example was a user of the very powerful Triton Belt Sander that gave one star on Amazon because while sanding, a cotton dust sheet got tangled up in it and broke something, got many funny replies. The Triton planer/thicknesser has an overload cutout switch for obvious reasons which was clearly explained in manual but 9 out of 10 returned as faulty worked perfectly once the reset button pushed, very frustrating and costly for us, I could name many more annoying similar “complaints”. I still have tools 40-
So I have decided to give it a go, it isn’t a site with all bells and whistles but a simple and honest representation of whatever I do to put on it. It does cost money to run it so have carried on my Affiliation with Amazon and minimal Google ads which helps a bit. I won’t be selling anything on here at the moment except maybe a few Triton spares I have.

I have recently purchased many tools, don’t tell the wife, moving over to cordless and will start with them.

Kind Regards Dennis
P.S If anyone remembers me from my Triton Tools days would love to hear from you.
